You took the wrong GR indeed. E4 is p...Sorry John, <br />You took the wrong GR indeed. E4 is passing over Le Dole. But in La Cure you may have seen a most interesting Auberge built on the border. Part of it is in France; another part in Switzerland. I slept there once with my head in one country and my toes in another. <br />In Switzerland trails are not outlined as such. What you find are markers to the next village - and you have to know by yourself which village is the next on E4. Find yourself a bookshop and buy the little guide of the Jurahöhenweg (in French or German) with splendid graphs and other info in symbols.
